Class act, very professional, and oh so nice were the people to my service dog. Couldn't ask for better care I received at the Audiology and Optometry clinics, Oh let me not for get the cool staff at the Pharmacy! I am a Veteran of course and I am a Nurse and an Employee at another VA in Tn. I am so impressed with the Birmingham VA, I drove 350 miles one way just to be treated at Birmingham VA.
The nurses and all the staff take excellent care of my Dad.
Only giving one star because I have to. Our experience there was horrible. The staff is lazy and very unprofessional. They really need to evaluate their staff.
It's hard to believe that there are no American flags flying around the hospital today. Just saying.

The pain clinic is a new concept to pain management,. It's not about medicine it's about the whole body and mind.
The folks here always treat me like a customer not a patient and that's good. True the auto phone system is a pain but that's true of systems from United Airlines to Computor tech lines
The staff at the BVAMC is very cordial and polite. Having said this, trying to reach anyone via phone is next to impossible. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get in touch with my PCP to schedule an appointment. I have used the messaging feature in ebenefits and have not received any notifications of any kind whatsoever. Dialing the BVAMC facility (205) 933-8101 yields little to no resolution. This is men and women who have served our country, and the deserve the up most respect from anyone in the building. The doctors that seen my father-in-law were absolutely wonderful however people at the front desk are a joke. They are rude and crude maybe they should be sent out to serve our country for a little while.
