I have had the pleasure of meeting RUDE staff members, nurses and Doctors that are so overworked they treat you like "cattle". I have been hung up on, talked down to, yelled at,waited over 3 hours for a PCP appointment. Yes, I have had a wonderful experience!
Yesterday was my husband's first visit to the VA in Birmingham, Alabama and I have to say we were treated with so much respect. We had gone there for only one reason, but after evaluating my husband, they made several suggestion for equipment to help him with his disability as well as helping me with lifting him. I cannot express how wonderful I think our VA Hospital is. Thank you Birmingham VA hospital visit a very pleasant experience. Thank you for caring about our Vets.
I GET EXCELLENT CARE FROM THE GOLD CLINIC DR MOATES,I HAVE HAD UAB DOCTORS SAYS HE IS THE BEST PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR AT BIRMINGHAM VA AND I AGREE.
I have been taking my brother in law to VA B'ham for about 1 year now. He was new to the VA and we didnt know what to expect. He has been admitted twice to the hospital for AFIB & CHF. The treatment he received both times was second rate to say the least. the second time he was there he contracted C"Def which went undetected for months. we waited 10 months for a colonoscopy to scheduled. I had him at the VA yesterday, 07/30/14 for cardiology appt. Doctor ask questions about his issuses regarding is heart and related problems... read more

That is because I still have one surgery left for now. Not real happy with them!!
Bittersweet experience.... its a crap shoot...some of bit good some not so good...
