If I could give negative stars I would, dont answer phones, dumb smartass doctors, who prolly can't work anywhere else, shitty care, ask to talk to the director get the secretary or PA who don't help and can be assholes, worst va in America

Of course the Birmingham VA Medical Center gives their famous "blanket statement". The patient advocate their is a huge joke. 3+ years and counting for a surgery and the VA says they care for their veterans... REALLY ?????

I have been using the VA in Birmingham for many years and most of my experience has been very pleasant until the past 18 months. I took the sleep test and it was determined that I had sleep apnea. At that time the wheels seemed to run off track. I assume it was because it was a new program but I am only guessing. In my opinion most of the people are trying to make it better.

The VA center in Birmingham has been great to my husband. They have given him the care he needs. I thank all employees for caring and given a 100% to all the Veterans. They have always been there for us when we need them. I can called the blue clinic and they know who I am. They remember my husband and ask how he is doing. They make us feel special. The emergency room has always given us that special care. Thank You again. My husband has agent orange, PTSD, congested heart failure, diabetes, heart disease, all from Vietnam.

I have one question why would I be asked during a routine health history and exam if I own any guns???? I have been asked for years about feelings of depression do I feel like hurting self or others and always honestly say no-But this last time the Gun question was asked. I also think it is unfair to me for power to not be in fully with my PCP or so it would seem. I here a lot of guff about the VA here on Facebook. I want to say Thank You to the great staff at the VA Clinic in Birmingham, AL. Had my VA Physical today and it went smoothly. I felt as though they used my time wisely. The entire staff from the shuttle driver to the receptionist and the physicians were compassionate and caring to everyone. They have a hard job taking care of this country's Veterans. For that I salute them.

Arrived at the anniston clinic early for an appointment at 9am. While I was in the rest room my name was called. When I came out another vet told me I was called. I went to the front desk and checked and she said she would check. An hour later a person came out to call another name and myself and three others that had been here over an hour asked about our names. The person said that if you didn't respond the first time she moved on to the next peron and didn't call your name again. She blamed it on under staffing. No excuse... read more
