Day surgery people are good. They all took care of me.
I started at the B'ham VAMC back in 1984 after relocating back to Birmingham. There as the evening staff RPh, I was later recommended to apply to the "Chief's Training Program" since I had practiced hospital pharmacy since 1971 and had both a BS in Pharmacy from Samford University & a open-ended MS degree from Auburn University, Then in 1986, I was selected to enter into the Chief's Training Program at the VA in Bay Pines, FL. Of ALL the VAs that I have worked in, nothing beats home like Birmingham.

Extremely poor care for my husband. Three years to have 1 tooth fixed? Please. He lost that tooth and others are on their way. Plus other problems. I've not seen worse care and I've been to Hines in Chicago and Miami. Top 10 hospital? Negative number at best! They will not send to outside care even though we live over 2 hours away.
I took my dad to the ER. We arrived around 12:30. There were only 2 others in the waiting room when we got there. Triage staff was 5 stars!! It was almost 5 hours before he was taken to a bed due to no room. At 7pm his ER nurse (who was wonderful) popped her head in to say her shift was over but Toni would be taking over for her and they were still waiting for his bed to be cleaned as he was being admitted. Very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Accurate diagnosis, eager to assist, a clean and sanitary environment, easy access. There's plenty of parking space available, considerate and patient drivers.
As I sit waiting for a family member in Outpatient Services, I am surrounded mostly by our country's VETERANS. I see the workers here treating these people with utmost respect and courtesy! I am overwhelming impressed with how smoothly this whole process is being handled for all these patients. They've all had little or no wait time from arrival through their recovery from whatever procedures they are having. These people have all the kindness in the world. They were all helpful, appointments were on time and the doctors are willing to sit and answer all your questions. Pleasure to come down here.
