I was there at the Agent Orange clinic, they took me early and I saw a young lady who was on her way to becoming a doctor. I had questions on the purpose of the clinic, seeing as they cannot tell you if you were exposed to agent orange. She said they just documented where I was in viet nam, looked at my dd-214. I told her what was going on with me physically, that I let my weight get down to 214 (usually it runs 224) and one day I got up and had 14 what appeared to be cysts on my back, all overnight. My husband was admitted for a scheduled surgery and I must be honest I was hesitant about having the surgery at the VA due to a past experience with my sister when she was admitted. That experience was awful for the most part to where I ended up filing a complaint. This experience was totally different and I am very grateful! From his surgeon, who kept me informed through the whole 5 hour surgery to every RN, LPN and CNA. This includes the cleaning staff. His room was on the 4th floor and the staff were AWESOME! I am very gr... read more
I am sitting in waiting room in Room 3800 waiting for my appointment watching two VA Employees . The youngest one is working while the older one is playing games on his cell phone and texting people being paid for doing nothing fruitful !
We were very impressed with the service we got in the er. No waiting and immediately they were tending to his problems. Doctors and nurse were so gentle and kind to him and to us. We really appreciated the care
Our experience with the VA in Birmingham has been very good. Everyone has been super nice to us. The shuttle bus drivers were so helpful and courteous. Escorts took very good care of us after procedures. Nurses and doctors kept me informed of what was going on. My only concern was that my husband had nothing to eat since night before. Was given water when time after the procedure. I understand that. Our appointment was at 7:30 am. We drove from Huntsville so we arrived at 6:30 am. I assumed he would be given something soft t... read more
The staff no matter which clinic within the hospital or the annex is always exceptionally pleasant, HOWEVER...the majority of the time it's an all day affair due to lack of info given to me so I'm running between the hospital and annex like a chicken with my head cut off!!! Which makes me late and I don't want to run the risk of not being seen after an hour and a half drive!!! You'll definitely receive better care here than you will at the Guntersville CBOC though!!! I'm so tired of switching doctors and dealing with chronic... read more
