My husband is an OEF veteran, and underwent spinal surgery at the Birmingham VA yesterday. We have just arrived back home in Anniston after originally being told we would have to stay two nights. After experiencing a major stroke near his residence in Jacksonville, AL, my Grandmother rushed my Grandfather to the VA in Birmingham where he has been confined in the MICU for over 2 weeks now. Everyone has been overly compassionate and taken wonderful care of both of them. While this may be his final few wks and final residence, the staff has comforted his wife of 51 years and abided her every wish to ensure a comfortable yet supportive treatment while considering all hopeful prayers from us lived ones. Some of the nicest people ever! My husband is a Navy Vet. He is always treated well! No complaints at all. Even their food is good. Other VA's could learn by their example!
Get to the parking garage and the line was long and there was a long wait and there was only 1 van and 1 bus on route to the VA and my husband was late for his appointment. He finally get to the appointment once again another long wait there as well when he finally get seen just to find out his situation is out of there hand and no longer need to come to them but need to continue with his other appointments. The nurses...doctors and other personnel in the micu are the best and so professional.... They have been great and so caring..... Always eager to answer all my questions about my Brother's condition..... And believe me... I have plenty.. Very professional... Proud of the Birmingham VA
U get seen faster if u ride the Ambulance.. Sat in the waiting room for 9 to 10 hours.. Just to get checked in.. Shii ridiculous!!
Give a 5-star rating to VA Medical Center in Birmingham, and to their out-patient clinics in Birmingham and Gadsden. Prompt medical care, gracious and helpful staff, cleanliness and overall professionalism. Been with my Dad several times & he is there now. WWII disabled vet.
I was helped and got everything I needed without a problem
I have been in chronic pain (IC) for a year now. Yesterday I had an appointment to check my bladder out and I have not been on pain meds the whole time. I asked this time cause I'm worn out I can't take it anymore and I got the well just hang in there speech. I suffer from mental problems and I'm tired of the way people who needs these treated so wrong.
