They are horrible. They trick you into auto-renewing contracts that you cannot cancel (they say you can cancel at any time but you have to pay the full year and if you forget to call and cancel the auto-renewal, you have to pay for the next year.

I only selected one star because that was the only was to write... My dog (15) has been with Banfield for *** years.. Lately any and every time we go there is some other "doc" ... Two days ago she goes for her "Comprehensive" Exam plus pedicure and etc... Today I had to take her to the Emergency Vet for a INFECTION! 440 DOLLARS LATER we are back home after a procedure to my 15 yr old baby! I actually called Corp wanting out of my contract and they said I have to pay it out, no ONE CARES they just want $$ .. F*** YALL !!

Unfortunately I cant give ZERO stars. The fact that there is at least 20 negative comments across ALL review platforms to 1 semi positive and this company still exists blows my mind! And when you file a complaint at your local banfield their response is to try and silence you. If you truly cared about the pets you care for you would listen to the endless feedback youre getting instead of the c*** auto replys. But then again when youre making over 700 million dollars a year off of honest people who love their pets, why would ... read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars! We had an appt for a pre-op visit so that my pup can get spayed at 6mos. The tech talked me into the Wellness Plan for the surgery/visits, instead of paying for the surgery outright. They took my dog from the exam room we were in to the back for the exam, said itd be 1/2hr, it was over 2hrs with no communication of what was happening with my dog. While examining her they performed tests without permission. During the exam, the vet discovered a complication with my dogs private. Which, later on... read more

**************** has usually been pleasant. My older dog has been on a supposed OPTIMUM WELLNESS PLAN for years since she was rescued. She started having issues so on her comprehensive exam the vet was very understanding and concerned she put her on heart meds n said if anything else happens bring her in for further testing.. my dog has a seizure in the early morning Banfield is open so I call and ask if she can be checked just briefly ears nose breathing. This review is for Banfield corporate as a whole, not any particular banfield location. As a matter of fact, the Banfield location staff has usually been pretty good. I learned that after my pet passed, I would still have to pay the full year contract out. This is ridiculous. Come up with a better solution Banfield and shame on you for this. To add icing to the cake, you have to call corporate to cancel, but they keep you on hold for a LONGGG time. When I tried calling last week, it was "55 minutes" and it never went down. I am only giving Banfield 1 star because of this ... there was a dog that we had rescued off the street we had him for a week trying to find his owner and no one showed. We then decided that we needed to keep him and so we took him to Banfield. We signed him up for the wellness plan and got him most of his shots including his rabies tag. First they would not allow us to go into a room with him which I find rather odd, but OK. We get him home and on New Years Eve his "owner" I use that word loosely (a story for another day.) ... read more

The Banfield Vet failed to provide adequate post-operative guidance, and our beloved six-year-old dog died of septic shock two days later. Our aftercare instructions made NO reference to extreme danger during the first 72 hours and NO indication of signs of sepsis or shock. By the time we went to a truly skilled veterinarian at an unrelated 24-hour hospital, it was too late. Banfield was grossly negligent, our dog son suffered in the extreme, and we are bereft. They cancelled my plan without mailing me any notice and demanded that I pay the remaining six months of the plan in full including paying for monthly retail items called simparica flea medicine and pro heart heart worm medicine that my dog will never receive and that they can sell to someone else. They are also making me pay over $400 for a dental cleaning that my dog will never have this year since they cancelled my plan.
