I chose Lowe's over another major retailer to purchase a dishwasher online because next-day delivery was promised. The other retailer had a one-week delivery time. I just learned about a disgraceful practice committed by Lowes. When someone orders something online then decides they dont want it, Lowes simply throws the item away. Lowes employees are not allowed to take it. These items could be donated to organizations and people in need, and they dont. The amount of waste, the disrespect for the planet, the burden put on our sanitation workers (paid by our taxes) is unacceptable. This has to change. I will never shop at Lowes again.
I ordered an item as a Christmas present for my husband. It was to be delivered by the 12/21/2021. I checked the tracking and it showed that it was in transit on the truck on 12/20/2021 to be delivered to my home. next on 12/22/2021 I got on Chat. On *******'s day I attempted to use my ******* military discount to make a purchase. The phone number I had been using for several years all of a sudden was not in the system. I went to customer service, and was told that I have to drive home an hour, go online, and set up a new military discount account through the website. About a month ago, my husband and I purchased an ** refrigerator and were told that they would be able to get it in and delivered within a couple of weeks. We opened up a Lowe's credit card to pay for it and were told that we would receive 0% APR for a year. I ordered a fridge from Lowes on their site around Black Friday to go on a vacant upstairs apartment thats going up for rental, after wed replaced the rest of the kitchen through Lowes. Lowes Sold my 98 year old grandmother an $800 dishwasher then exactly 2 months outside of the manufacture warranty the wash motor died. The repairman confirmed that it was not due to our usage but faulty parts. Neither Lowes nor whirlpool offered to replace or fix the machine as it was out of 12 month warranty. The repairman said this is consistent with appliance manufacturers as well as Lowes. Hello I am a 96 year old Lowes customer. I ordered an air conditioner / heater, I made a mistake and failed to put my unit number on the order. I put the address but not unit number. Because of this Fed Ex will not deliver it to me and will not change, amend the order so it can be delivered to me.
