People who are writing that they were charged high rates simply did not understand why you would sign uo with Griddy in the first place. They pass all the risk on to you in passing along the wholesale price. Sometimes that wholesale price jumps like crazy, which is why people are complaining about high charge days. I was encouraged when I signed up 2 months ago and July was about 10% less than last July even though I used more energy, however, August rolled around and I was charged as much as $9/kWh, not 9 cents, but 9 dollars. Two days ago costs me $66 and yesterday was $171...OUCH!!! Total for the first 1/2 of August is $429, but if they keep hitting me for over $100 per day, soon my bill will be $2-3,000 per month when it should be about $300-350 this time of year. the extremely high prices during a 20% of the day greatly overpower the low prices during 80% of the day
No protection threshold for customers, what a joke! I paid $100 for 60kwh in ONE DAY! 2 weeks in and my electricity bill is almost up to 300.00! I do not recommend this company!
