I wish there were negative stars to rate them! I feel I've been violated! We wanted to think about what they offered and respond within the next few days but were told they were sure what they were offering would be available and encouraged us to sign. We made it clean that the main reason we were interested is that we stayed in St Louis MO frequently due to doctor appointments and travel (we live over 2 hours away). I paid $169 for a 3 day stay in whatever resort if I only sit through a 2-hour presentation. I figured sure, but I didn't set a date because honestly, I have a busy schedule and still have to pay for a plane ticket. We have requested a release of our contract with Diamond Resorts due to their misleading sales tactics and disappointing experiences with their properties and personnel. We received a call from a Diamond representative who basically said there was no way out of the contract unless we paid our contract/loan in full. Laura L. Was offered a 5-night vacation in HI but no dates were available in the summer which is the only time I can travel. When I suggested I could wait to travel until next summer, I was told no dates were available then either, a full year away. When I put the deposit on the "5 free nights", I had no idea of the limitations and restrictions on traveling that were in place, as these were never explained. This Diamond issue has been a total nightmare. They talked us into this purchase with promises for accommodations for the whole family but we never found anything that suits our needs. The availability is terrible and nothing like described. We were also promised great deals on flights through their program which was complete lie as well. Diamond Resorts timeshare sales people took advantage of us who were under pain and duress to get us to sign a contract; a contract that those same sales people completely lied about. Upon bringing this up to Hilton sales management (Hilton has purchased Diamond Resorts,) who supposedly could help us, they never acknowledged the lies we were told and the duress and anguish involved with us ending up with the timeshare. Our relationship with Diamond Resorts started out on a rocky road and turned out to be a complete disaster. In less than 2 years, we have discovered a multitude of lies, manipulation, and a breach of our consumer rights. During the presentation, they effectively held us hostage until we made a purchase. They took our drivers licenses at check in and refused to hand them back until the presentation was over. Hilton Grand Vacations is beyond manipulative and vindictive!! They told us to falsify our income and told us we’d have DISCOUNTED ACCESS TO EVERYTHING DISNEY RELATED. I sure bet, Disney would LOVE to hear about this, and how another company is luring people in with such blatant lies about giving access to their theme park as a selling point for a timeshare!
