I went to Las Vegas for my son’s 21st birthday and all we wanted to do was celebrate and have a good time. So disappointed with our experience. We are loyal Hilton guests but after this past sleazy experience I think Marriott may get our business. Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say about Diamond/HGV. For 3 years now, they continue to take my money and give little to nothing in return. The only thing I have consistently gotten from this company are the bills! So much information about my ownership was left out or the sales rep lied about it. As a nurse, I spend a lot of time in upsetting situations, so dream vacations at a decent price was very appealing. If only I had known what I was really getting into. I called the representatives are very rude. the young lady who answered over-talked me. I was transferred to several departments and couldn't get any help with my booking. No one stops to listen. When asked are my call was recorded the rep hung up in my face. I'm a long-time member of the Hilton hotel chain. I will never book with HGV seeing as it's all about the money no one cares about your actual needs for the vacation. It doesn't have to be so hard to become an owner or member. We purchased a VIP membership on January 9, 2023 and canceled it within the correct timeframe on January 17, 2023. No acknowledgement. I called on 2-7-23 and was told someone would contact within 7-10 business days. No contact. I called again on 2-21-23 and emailed.. March 6 received email there was a problem making the refund. Hilton made us think we would have access to these exclusive offers. They made us feel special and in reality, we are just a pawn in their big scheme. Here are some examples of the “exclusive offers” that ended up being lies: We would be part of an elite and exclusive club for owners. When trying to book we discovered that not only are the properties not exclusive to Hilton owners, but it is also far more expensive than booking their properties with online travel websites. I booked a Hilton Grand Vacations special package for New York City last year with the understanding that I would sit through a 2 hour time share presentation. What I wasn't told was that I could only use the package when a timeshare presentation was available at only 2 NYC properties and just told availability was 5 months out!
