Became a timeshare owner years ago, originally with Sunterra, then Diamond bought them out. All was smooth sailing for several years, but once Steven Cloobeck sold Diamond to Apollo, it had been downhill. Rules have changed, points needed to stay have significantly increased, maintenance fees have increased, there is rarely availability, when you call the company, it is difficult to understand the person at the call center due to English being their 2nd language, have had several incidents of beg bugs, cockroaches, ants, gec... read more

Business response:

We are disheartened to read about your disappointment and can assure you we never want to make our members feel under valued. We have assigned a case manager to you so they should be reaching out to you in the next couple of days to discuss your concerns further. Thank you. -GP

I wish I could give a negative star rating. I have never been so disappointed by a company I have done business with. Here is my story. When my wife lost her job about 3 1/2 years ago, I lost about 2/3 of my income. We contacted everyone we could about working with us so we wouldn't lose our home, and many other companies offered help, many others except DRI. Of course DRI continued calling us trying to sell us more, and every time I asked to speak to someone who could help us, and every time I was told they would have a man... read more

Business response:

Well it has been another month of struggling along and still haven't heard back from DR. Just would like to GIVE it back to them. Not asking for anything in return.

They lie consistently to your face during presentation, you cannot get away from sales people, an owners update is not an update at all just another sales mod to sell you more points. Our maintenance fees have risen so high, we can no longer afford, all other fees like upgrade room went from $75. To $150. This year takes more points to book a room. Can not use points for car rental or airfare those were taken away a few years ago. It's just out of control, as elderly disabled Americans citizens are medical bills are more imp... read more

Shady sales practices. No value for resale. Should not have to cost to return points when it's been paid off for years but you can no longer travel. Politicians are bought by business!

YES!! They lie!!! We stopped paying also. They continue to stand by and say their sales reps are honest and don't lie. YES, they pay on your emotions and self-esteem. When we joined my husband had just landed a lucrative job that kept him away from home frequently. They played on my husband's ego to being to afford his family that he 'abandons' to compensate by providing lavish vacations desirable locations. They played on the fact that we have two autistic sons who were present at the presentation. The presentation lasted l... read more

My girlfriend and I went into this obviously because the award was worth the time. 3 hours in and I wasn't hooked. They had my girlfriend at about 80%. All of a sudden, I become the bad guy because I don't want to take my girl on yearly vacations. They tried to press that on me. I'm a skeptic and some dbags younger than me scribbling down numbers on a blank sheet of paper doesn't do it for me. Every time I said no, they brought in another car salesman with a better deal. If your deal is so good then why is it so hard to sel... read more

I was totally misled and misinformed during the sales pitch. I thought the grand resort was a great idea to purchase but I was wrong and I wish I can reverse back everything that took place. I was told how easy it will be to book vacations, sale the share back if no longer interested and how great the customer service is but thus far, my experience has been a nightmare. I was sold into empty hopes. I emailed my sales rep within my grace period informing him of my finance changes and that I got admitted to grad school which m... read more

RECORD EVERYTHING, misrepresentations and misleading, Losing at least $15K. The presentation fails to mention the multitude of fees, the fact that the use fee, transfer fee, Operating Fee, Reserve Fee, Real Estate Tax Fee, Club Fees, Voluntary ARDA fee, late fees, finance charges, lock out fee, collection fee. The collection fees and late fees started once I realized how bad they lied and I stopped paying. DO NOT PAY CASH like I did, these fine folks love to foreclose on you if it is paid for. They said THEY WOULD PURCHASE b... read more
