What a farce. As a HGV owner they make it their business to not get you the vacation that you want. Once they have your money they don't care whether you use your points or not. No actually the prefer you don't use them, the reservation window is a joke. This company will take your money down on a supposedly amazing offer to "preview" one of their properties, but they make it incredibly hard to stay anywhere worth staying, and then make the logistics to use the vacation impossible. DON'T give these guys your money. You will regret it.

I've been a loyal Hilton member for 20 years and Diamond member for three. JUST WALK AWAY NOW FROM ANY ASSOCIATION WITH HGV. About a month ago, I was transferred to HGV line and listened to a sales pitch for an offer "to good to be true" to visit a HGV. I have been trying to contact someone with specific question about selling my contract back to HGVC since Nov 2019. They will not tell me the up front costs. They will only send me a form letter over email asking me to sign a listing agreement. I have received the form letter over and over. When I call, I can only get the salespeople on the phone. There is no real customer service department it seems. I am unable to reach anyone by phone. Disappointing.

In 2019 we had gone to Vegas and when we were there Diamond roped us in to giving them $150 for a trip back to Vegas and we would get $150 back by going to their presentation for buying into the timeshare. They were also putting us up in a hotel at no charge. I had tried making reservations and was told no on my dates several times. I told them the days of the week we could travel and extended further out then was told they couldn't make reservations that far out. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. WHAT A SCAM! We paid $20,000 in cash for 3400 points every other year. A month later when we had buyer's remorse, we were told we could sell it back to them for $2,000!!! 1/10th of what we paid. Ridiculous! When I realized there was no other way to get rid of the property, I told them I'd take it. They told me it was too late. Now they have offered to sell it for $1,000. We have tried to use the points. HGV is an absolute scam. I have been a "Club Member" for over 6 years. Let me tell you it does not get any better. I was told this was an investment. It is the furthest thing from an investment. It is flat out extortion. The fees continuously increase. Your club membership dues are stated as only increasing periodically. WRONG! They increase every year for perpetuity. I would like to report on business practices and techniques that are wrong and illegal by Diamond Resort International. My personal experience with Diamond Resort is that they will not honor their commitments and their contractual obligations. They made claims that as a gold member I would receive 50% off on all scheduled point usage for Diamond properties and did not honor this commitment.
