Got a call from HGV. They offered 20,000 points if we agreed to sit through their 2 hour presentation in DC. We agreed, with the understanding that the 20,000 was equal to about 4 night stays. NOT! Their website says (as does G*****, linking to their website) that "as little as 5,000" are needed for a free nights' stay. ONLY 23 Hilton properties accept as little as 5,000 points for a free night and they are all in Turkey or Russia! This is deceptive!

We are looking to purchase a time share and signed up for their Hawaii offer for the week of 10/2. We purchased many excursions and airfare to Maui. Three weeks before our departure my wife suffered a Heart attack and was hospitalized. Her cardiologist advised us not to take the trip so we canceled. I just finished my "one-hour" member update that lasted 2 hours. I was told that the original 2016 agreement with Salespersons Kat McDonald and Daniel Santiago of Sedona was null and void. I had a freeze on my point price and was told I could keep it indefinitely until I was ready to purchase as long as I did not do a marketing presentation. If i could put negitive stars i would say - 10 nothing but lies every time we sit down with a sales person. What a surprise the last sales person steered you wrong theres something funny looking in what you accually own im not sure why the last sales person would have told you that. If you like i can get this fixed up for you just 20,000 or so more . I'll always be here for you just call. This is just some of the bull that i have heard from them. Every comment I have red here is exactly what has happened to us. I have never felt so scammed and cheated in my life. We have been lied too, felt bullied and trapped. The last time we met with one of there people they would not let us see the breakdown of financial statement we have with them. But he did tell us we should go to the corporate office to discuss us being ripped off and threaten to take this to the Nevada state realtor commission. Upon listening to the sales pitch, I was led to believe this could be a pleasant experience, as I had never been to Washington DC. I was told how this was such a great deal and how everything in DC was within walking distance. I was told I had a year to book my stay. Then I went on line to read the reviews, only to find others were very unhappy with the process and were being charged additional charges they weren't aware of. HGVC deliberately deceptive practices to sell their timeshares. As a senior citizen I am victim of fraud & deceit. We first signed up years ago with a rep in NYC 2013,He told us it would retain its value; you can refinance & resale as it always be desirable. The whole scheme is deceptive from the start. I have had some good experiences using my points. However, the company does a bait and switch regularly, and in general it isn't a good deal. Let me give you two examples of what I think is bait and switch, and also why it isn't a good deal. 1. The last time we bought some points, we were told we would be in "platinum" level for 3 years because of the purchase. We went to Diamond Resorts presentation today. When we had signed up yesterday, we were told they would charge our credit card $40.00 if we didn't show up. But they put through the charge before the presentation. The first 3 salespeople who talked to us were pleasant & they explained the program. The final guy was pushy & rude he made us feel that we were crazy for not jumping into the program. Everything sounded too good to be true and we are glad that we didn't get involved with this company
