In October 2018 we were offered a "free" three-night stay in Orlando if we agreed to attend a one-hour presentation. We attended the presentation on October 19, 2018 - my 77th birthday - which lasted approximately 2 1/2 hours. I truly hope you are reading this BEFORE you buy it, or the day or two after. Cancel immediately if you just signed up, follow recsission rules carefully. ABSOLUTELY Awful!!! Probably the single worst financial decision of our lives. Impossible to book! Availability dates never conducive to our vacation plans or family availability. A giant financial hole in the ground. Far worse than owning a boat of similar financial liability. Whatever you do, DO NOT purchase shared ownership with Hilton. What Hilton is great at... As of today, it has been one full month since I paid off my loan to DRI (for upgrading to the HI collection and to Silver level). The payment was made on the phone with a supervisor's agreement that the payment would 'close out' the loan. Loan Services people say that should have taken 24 hours to close. However, the loan still remains open, accruing interest, and now I'm receiving 'late' notices via mail and text! Never buy or fall for this company. I bought the vacation package for 3 nights 4 days after we stayed at one of the Hilton. The representative made the package very appealing. Due to unfortunate health issues so we were unable to travel for that year. Called and spoke to many representatives, but unable to speak to a Supervisor to extend it without slapping us with hidden fees. I made the grave mistake of going to one these time share presentations and providing them with my phone number. This was literally 4 years ago, I have received over 500 calls from various companies to whom HGV had sold my information to or were affiliates of. I have called several times to have them remove me from the call list however they claim to do so only to continue to receive these calls. Hilton Grand Vacations is without a doubt the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to be a customer of. I have been on the phone with them, written, emailed, you name it and all I ever get in response is sorry there's nothing we can do. I have tried getting in touch with Hilton for months. This is without a doubt one of the worst companies I've ever had the misfortune of being a customer. They are rude, don't provide any legitimate resources for their owners, and dismiss their owners. This is a total scam.
