We're being ignored by Hilton. I don't know what we would have done to receive this type of service but since as early as February this year, they have been ignoring our every request. Hilton needs a new MO or they won't stay in business much longer. We're desperate to do whatever we can to get away from them. You know when you have a customer service issue and you're just passed off to an 800 number, but then transferred a handful of times and then you get a voicemail? That's Hilton. I've been an active consumer for decades but never been this ignored by customer service. I thought I had issues before but over the course of the last 6 months I've been ignored every time. I've probably placed a dozen calls in the customer care line and been ignored every time. I tried to cancel my vacation ownership by contacting multiple departments at the timeshare and either I've been ignored or given no explanation as to why I cannot cancel. I was told that I could sell my ownership back to Hilton at any time if it wasn't working or didn't work how I was told it would. As you can guess both scenarios have been my reality. Don't walk, RUN as fast and as far away from Hilton as you can. I've been back and forth with their loss mitigation department since May and that is after months of even trying to get in touch with them. From May to October all they say is they don't have the right information, or it's not in the right place, or I need to start over. I could count on two hands how many times I told the sales people that I DID NOT WANT a timeshare. Somehow they pushed me until I couldn't say no. These people really pulled one over on us. You've got to go into these meetings with armor if you want to try to get around their constant **** that they pull. At the time our 2 and 5 year old were with us and they needed to eat. I have been trying to get out of my membership with Hilton Grand Vacations since March and all Hilton can say is "No, sorry we can't help you". It is the same formatted response each time they email or send a letter back to us. I am quite frankly very upset with this. We were lied to from the very start with this company. That is what they sold us - beautiful properties we could go to anytime we wanted (within the every-other-year time frame). I shouldn't have to write a formal letter to a company to explain my complaints but Hilton's the exception to the rule over and over again. I've been an owner for 15 years and within the last few years the customer service and facilities have just done downhill. My daughter had issues with her last trip and there was no apology or restitution for the issues. They will do a bait and switch. Total fraud! They will do anything to get your commission. DO NOT trust this company. We went into a sales office in South Lake Tahoe. They advertised a condo for $199. The sales guy told us that we could stay at their refurbished resort on the lake in a one-bedroom and if we booked now, we'd get an extra night free.
