I don't know what all the fuss about it is. This was my very first visit. And unfortunately it will probably be my last. Taste just like any other Burger Joint out there
First and for most I'm super glad Steak 'n Shake came to Charleston. Definitely put a smile on my face since I had always stopped at a Steak 'n Shake in Florida. But this place.... I don't think I can ever go here anymore. Not only I had to repeat my order 3x. I got all my orders wrong. I checked if the right amount of orders was in there and it was. I love the food but ALWAYS hate the service. The hostess took forever to seat us & then placed us at a dirty table. When i pointed out it was dirty she said she guess she would wipe it. The waitress took our order and brought it out but didn't stay long enough for us to let her know it was wrong. She never refilled our drink and we had to find someone else to fix our food. She charged us wrong and again we had to find someone to fix it. The manager didn't seem to care at all.
Your night staff is using hard drugs on a very heavy and very regular basis. I can not even put into words what happened while I was at your restaurant. I personally witnessed at least 3 employees so messed up on something that they weren't capable of holding a conversation let alone bringing us our food. One guy just stood in the kitchen staring at us with our milkshake in his hand until we got up and came into your kitchen to get our milkshake from his hand. We stood at the door for at least 10 minutes before being seated, all the open tables were dirty with no one cleaning them, finally got seated, no menus, no waitress .... after sitting for 10 minutes and realizing that people at other tables had no drinks etc we got up and left. Will NEVER visit this location again.
If I could give them ZERO stars I would. This is the absolute worst experience at a Steak and Shake. Will not be back!!!
The worst service we have had in a very long time. First, chili came out cold. Then one entree completely wrong, never got condiments we requested, or refills on drinks or utensils until we pursued them. We gave the manager feedback at check out (ticket was wrong too) & he never even looked up from taking our money to acknowledge he heard us, much less to apologize. Clearly, the problems at the restaurant flow from the top down.
Steak 'n Shake you are losing your appeal. Went in this afternoon around 4 to a nearly empty restaurant. When our order was finally taken for two milk shakes we waited and waited and waited. Finally after 25 minutes of waiting in a nearly empty restaurant we got up and walked out. Food may be good but the service is horrible.
Stopped here on our way home with my husband and three boys. The hosts tried to seat the 5 of us at a table with 4 chairs. Then when we questioned it she gave us a blank stare asking if we needed a high chair. We asked for a booth. Then our server came, Antonio and was very promising. However, after he delivered our drink order, he never came back! Finally we just got up and left after paying for our drinks.
