This was my first visit to the Hixson office and to see Dr . Smith. I was impressed with the comfortable waiting room and efficient ,friendly, caring staff . Dr. Smith carefully listened to my concerns and quickly assessed and treated the condition. He and his staff explained everything that was being done and special after care issues until my followup appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Smith if you need specialty orthopedic care.
Prompt and professional service, from front desk staff, nursing, medical assistants and x-ray technologists. Dr Ballard listens, and sincerely wants his patient to express what I wanted, so he could help me reach my goals.
His ability to listen and actually get to know his patients. He reviewed my options and took his time to explain them and as a team we chose the best course of action
This visit was my first at this office. Also the first time I’ve seen Dr. Smith. I found him to be very thorough and kind and compassionate. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I will definitely use him in the future.

I am a 66 yo retired Firefighter that has had plenty of orthopedic injuries throughout my career. I felt as if I was relegated to live a life of chronic pain post retirement. A visit to Dr Smalley to treat my shoulders and knees for chronic pain had me back to my old life of activity and fitness in short order. Thank you Dr Smalley for helping me get back to the life I dreamed of in retirement!
Thought I was having problem with my knee replacement but it was perfect in x-ray. He listened to my list of problems and discovered my problem was actually my ITband. He truly does listen to your concerns. Trust him completely.
Maybe shorter time in between visits.
