First let me apologize for the length of this post. I want everyone to know what a ripoff this company is through my direct experience with them and I want to make sure I communicate the facts, all the facts, correctly. I posted a bad review thinking I was getting overcharged and I wasn’t so I just edited it! $21 a month and my dog is covered well and I’m an insurance agent so I can’t be fooled. I’m satisfied!!!!
I adopted an older dog. Bought coverage as advertised, and was told there was NO exclusion/waiting period. Claim submitted and denied due to "pre-existing" condition. Your advertising and what I was told amount to insurance fraud. I want your (expensive) premiums back. My other 17 dogs are insured with nationwide and I've never had this issue with adoped dogs with them.
They always reimburse me promptly. No hassle.
Got a quote for both my cats. Looked reasonable and decided to sign up for insurance. The prices quoted and what I agreed to pay was one amount and I was charged a completely different amount. Which was more than I agreed to pay. Called them and couldn’t get a straight answer from them on why I was charged more. Immediately canceled the policies. Still waiting on my refund. Incredibly shady. I’ll go somewhere else for pet insurance.
When I adopted my dog from the Humane Society, I set up the 30 day insurance with PetFirst and they handled it very well. Even though the claim was processed after the 30 day insurance expired, I was reimbursed and I only had to pay 22% of the bill. Even though it was a temporary service, they were very helpful. Thank you ☺️
PetFirst has quite literally been a lifesaver for our dog. We have had nothing but positive experiences.
