So far not a good experience at all. I got a 6 month old kitten at a rescue and their information was in the packet. Payments for the insurance 2 of them came out of my account, then I started getting e-mails saying I needed to sign up in X number of days before my free 30 day policy ended. They had taken 2 months out of my checking already. I called customer service was told to be compliant they needed to end the wrong e-mails to me. had 2 bad experiences with Customer Service. I filed my first claim recently with Petfirst. They were very easy to work with and processed my claim in a timely manner.
When I rescued my boxer 4 years ago Saint Hubert’s rescue provided the policy at her adoption. I continued the policy and they have been excellent! They do not cover everything, most types of insurance do not cover all situations. They do however have quick reliable claims service. I would highly recommend this company.
I have had two greyhounds under PetFirst. I have been happy with the claim submission process and the very quick response. Once I understood the documents I needed to be sure to have, it has been easy. If you adopt a new pet and decide to get PetFirst insurance, be sure your new policy is effective BEFORE you have your first appointment with your vet. This company is a complete joke. I adopted my pet on 7/1/18. The vet notes from the adoption agency do not state anything about a pre-existing condition, even though he had been monitored for 2 weeks prior to adoption and "no health concerns were observed." Cut to his first vet visit on 7/13/18 where the new vet notes state he has had diarrhea since adoption. Diarrhea is now considered a pre-existing condition and not one vet visit or med is being covered by this company when the vet notes say my pet has diarrhea! Customer s... read more
Coverage includes hereditary issues such as hip and elbow dysplasia, which not many companies do. Amazing customer service, too!
I WAS COMPLETELY FOOLED INTO PURCHASING THIS INSURANCE.
I am so thankful to have a policy with petfirst. We have three dogs and my oldest dog has cushings and most recently wasn’t able to walk. Petfirst was there when my medical bills were stacking up. I had contacted customer service because I could see claims coming in but knew by the amount one was missing but couldn’t see the dates so I didn’t know which one was.
