My sister's dog needs knee surgery that they're refusing to cover because they say it's a pre-existing condition. My sister has the proof from two different vets and the shelter that she adopted her dog from that this is not a pre-existing condition, this happened while she was at the beach playing with another dog. My sister has also requested to have her insurance cancelled which PetFirst Pet Insurance has not done, and they continue to debit her account.

I have had PetFirst insurance for 7 years. My policy recently renewed and without notifying me my policy cost doubled. When I reached out to costumer service they told me they no longer offer my policy and the new cost for the cheapest is double my original policy. What a disappointment that I spent all of that money for my fur baby to have insurance and now as she’s getting older and will probably need it the most, she doesn’t have it.

As our pets become older, the cost of policies do increase but we can help to find a plan that works within in your budget and make sure your pet is covered into the future.
PetFirst has insured my dogs and now cats for years. With specific guidelines for reimbursement, and great customer service, we received payment for our Lucy's pet ER claim. It's a comfort knowing we have affordable insurance for those unpredictable and sometimes heartbreaking moments for our four legged family. Only wished Petfirst had insurance for horses too.

I have had this insurance on my dog over 11 years--I have filed very few claims, yet now that she's older & been sick this spring & summer, they won't link the 3 vet bills together as the same "incident," therefore the reimbursement check is significantly lower than it should be. I feel very hurt & betrayed that in my time of sadness/need/needing help, they turn their back on me.

This is my first experience with Pet Health Insurance. My husband would never think we needed it. Our chihuahua is only 17 mos. old. Yesterday he had a very expensive knee surgery. We had been dealing with this problem for about a month, two visits to your reg. vet were paid quickly and covered all but our detuctible. Knowing we had insurance helped us to make the decision to go ahead and have the surgery our dog needed. I am very pleased with our experience with Petfirst, now I can't imagine not having their insurance.

They were really great until my most recent claim. I have had to resubmit it several times and now they're only covering a part of it. I'm currently trying to get someone in the online chat to talk to me and it just keeps spinning saying "two minutes wait" when I've been on there 10 minutes.
