I never had pet insurance before and opted to try out PetFirst as my rescue agency provided a 30-day trial. Well, within 12 hours of starting the trial (was set up as soon as we got our dog) we had to bring him to the vet as he was vomiting blood. After diagnostics (blood test, x-rays, etc.), a night over, and then follow-up diagnostics the next day it turns out he had an ulcer or something as no object was found. PetFirst Pet insurance is an amazing investment. Our dog has some stomach issues and also is on prevention allergy meds. The cost of these meds alone makes it worth the insurance. The staff there are some of the most friendly and helpful customer service providers I've ever dealt with. Always a pleasure talking to them anytime we have a question. Thanks for making us feel like you care about our dog as much as we do. Forever a customer.

I also had horrible experience with PetFirst. Their claims department staff are not professional. My claim was denied due to "missing documentation". I gave them all they ask for but there was something else they needed again and again. I had to log in daily to see the process of my claim. I was told many times they would call me or email with an update. The only email I got was to let me know my claim was closed. DO NOT BUY A POLICY WITH PETFIRST! They will waste your time and money.

PetFirst has been a lifeline from the very first day we brought home our rescue dog, Lorenzo, an adorable Long Haired Chihuahua. We drove 5 hours each way to get him from a rescue shelter and, to our dismay, he coughed all of the way home. We immediately brought him to the doctor who diagnosed a serious case of pneumonia. I have always had multiple dogs on Pet First insurance and have been very pleased with their policies and their customer service. I have had dogs with serious medical issues and don't know what I would have done with Pet First. My Emma had IMHA, a serious and life threatening auto immune disease. It ran thousands and thank God Pet FIrst was there. I've also dealt with opthalmology issues and surgeries and cardiac issues. Pet First has been there for me. I am always recommending Pet First to others
