Had a crack in my windshield. Called for repair. They said if it’s smaller than a dollar bill, then it can be fixed without charge. They tried to direct me to an authorized dealer. I know they provide home service so I asked for it. On the date they were to arrive the young man calls and want to know more about as he didn’t want to drive an hour and forty minutes if it couldn’t be repaired. The gentleman who replaced my windshield left the interior of my vehicle filthy!! Grease, glue and glass particles everywhere. If that wasn’t bad enough, when he was done I went to start my car and it wouldn’t start. He drained my battery!! To make matters worse, Safelite refused to pay the $55 for my battery to be recharged. The customer service was awful. Shockingly poor quality of workmanship!!! The photos (I have many many more) tell the story to some extent, but do not tell the entire story. If I could give Zero stars, I would. Hang on... First , note that this review involved the replacement of a flush mount motorhome windshield at the cost of $3,400. This is the short version. Awful! This has to have been the worst experience I’ve ever had with auto repair. The technician arrived late, was a sweaty mess and smelled foul. He performed the repair in my garage with no respect for sanitation or social distancing whatsoever. The windshield actually looks worse after the repair and to add insult to Maury the technician left my car door ajar, leaving an interior light on which completely drained the battery. I went to the Safelite in Bridgeport CT and the people there are very rude. I'm glad I will NEVER go back there again,my Insurance broker overheard the woman talking to me, since she had no patience to explain anything. She took the insurance card out of my hand with attitude and told me to call the claim number. My broker said she's calling another company to fix my windshield. Big problem and then no show to fix it, bad.
7/22/2020 - Customer Service is terrible-good luck trying to get help. I went to have my windshield replaced and found out they don't carry windshields so I scheduled the replacement in two weeks. I went and had the windshield replaced. I noticed another man (who had arrived at the same time as me) go to his truck which was parked right out front. Had a chip in my windshield I wanted filled. The safelite technician turned it into a large crack! Was unapologetic and asked me if I wanted a quote to get it replaced because it will no longer pass inspection. Customer service is no help. They are not using phones right now due to COVID and there is no way to contact them. I direct messaged them on Facebook and all I received is back was a scripted answer about how they aren’t responsible for the damage he caused.
