Turbotax added a grossly unreasonable and absurd 40 dollar fee just to pay with your refund. And they don't disclose it until you're about to file.

I have used TurboTax in the past and liked the product. NOT this year. There are several computer glitches in this years product- end up in a loops I can't get out of without shutting down app and there is no free customer service number to call for help. You have to pay to call and it'll cost you $40.00. I was unable to eFile this year because there were non correctable flags (delete- review- delete again- review ad nausium). I did not get my monies worth this year and won't use them again. No customer service really irks m... read more

Horrible experience. I was initially Interested because the service was "free". After basically completing the whole process myself I was then prompted to upgrade service during the final step because of a certain portion of filing required it. After speaking to three or four different representatives regarding other ways to file for cheaper, I was told I would need to downgrade from live to regular. Fine with me as I did all the work myself. However if I wanted to go with this option I would need to start the process all ov... read more

Filed last year with Turbotax. I was given the free-file option. I thought this would be simple like the year before with my free-file. I completed everything. The very last page required $40 for state filing and $40 for federal filing. So I clicked on deduct from return which seamed like the easiest option. The confirmation receipt charged me for $120. I was charged with an additional $40 fee written in the *fine print* fee for return payment instead of a regular credit card payment for $80. This is a disgusting company wit... read more

I wasn't offered the option to pay via creditcard rather than pay with my tax refund. Turbotax has had a lot of problems with not being forthcoming about their fees, and I guess I want this issue added to the pile. It turns out there are several articles about this practice. I'm very annoyed. I would much rather have not added another $40 to my total. I called and they said once it is filed, there is nothing they can do. https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/online-tax-filing-fees-dont-pay-with-refund

I have been a loyal customer for the last 8+ years and have used their Turbotax services. I chose the Deluxe version which cost me about $90.00, a price that has increased over the years. Isn't Turbotax supposed to be a low-cost tax filing service? Then, when I tried to submit my e-file transmission I received an error message saying: "Your Transmission Didn't Go Through" and the vague explanation said it was because "our records indicate that you are not entitled to e-file one or more formsets". That's not helpful and does ... read more

I used the tax service to file electronically. They submitted my claim but they send my card that my refund was on to the WRONG address. Once I figured this out and called them, my only choice was to use the web chat feature. After I spoke to someone and had a new card sent to the correct address they sent it with the slowest shipping possible. That would take over 2 weeks to get here. I told them I wanted it send faster and they said they could do that and set the shipping for expedited, or so I thought. I chatted in severa... read more
