Purchased federal and state for turbo tax online (100.70). Then I asked for a refund since it would not let me e-file at the end of completing my taxes. There was an issue with information migrating into the state so this caused the whole problem. Turbo tax shouldn't charge you until they are completely sure they will be able to do everything correctly and e-file your taxes. Turbo tax denied my refund after months of trying. Our business processes $50,000,000+ annually in online transactions and sales through our e-commerce business and we were trying to integrate our platforms to utilize the QuickBooks payment processing and our payments were being held. After a series of calls and documentation requested (which we provided), QuickBooks notified us that they would need to refund these transactions. Inuits / Quickbooks business practices and support give me the impression of that of a monopoly bully that does not care at all for their small business customers. for 20 years I had a standalone version of QB that cost me every 2 or 3 years approx. $150.- to upgrade to a up-to-date version. They have coned me into to "upgrade" to an partial online version (need to be online for it to work) which costs me now $180.- every year. That was about 3 years ago. Would give 0 stars. It is very disconcerting how I trusted Intuit's TurboTax to do taxes for my family and Turbotax resulted in allocation of much more wages than my wife and I had at the NJ state level when she was working in New York while residing in NJ. The allocation of wages had to be done manually for each state and could easily be overlooked and incorrect. We were surprised TurboTax never fixed this bug. Intuit Online Payroll caused the IRS to penalize my company $3,000! Their software makes it look like they are filing and paying your Federal taxes but in reality they are only paying them, not filing the required 940 and 941 forms. The IRS has no record of receiving any of these forms from me for over 2 years and now I have to pay several thousand dollars in penalties. They advertise support for crypto. They have coinbase support built right into their tax software. Guess what. That does not work and coinbase customer service has told me they have no compatibility with turbotax. Well that's trash. Both coinbase and turbotax are trash when it comes to lying about crypto support. They force you to pay 100$ for an external service to organize your crypto. Then miraculously turbotax supports that data, but not the free data directly from coin base. Hmm...

Actually I don't even want to give them 1 star!! Horrible company to deal with for payroll support or any other type for that matter. we are a 2 employee business and have used QB for many years and every year their fees go up for QB and Intuit- payroll. If we didn't already have all our data with them we would find another company. They no longer provide any type of support now unless you log in and do a chat!! Forget about calling in and speaking to a foreigner you can hardly understand but at least you could speak to some... read more

TurboTax has an online full-service option where your taxes will be filed for you. I signed up for this service and uploaded all of my documents. After 10 days, I sent a message asking for an update from my tax preparer, only to find that my account had been downgraded to a self-preparation model without my consent. I called customer service and after nearly an hour on the line (most of which was on hold) I was informed that my case had been closed, and it could not be re-opened. I've used Turbo Tax to file my taxes for years. I have extremely simple tax returns, just disability payments for income and a certificate of rent paid for the State of MN. This year, I noticed that my MN tax returns didn't seem right. Their software did not check the boxes for "disabled," even though it did on the federal return.
