Really awful company. They advertise free simple filing. No! Absolutely not. I'd be done by now if I just avoided this awful company. I have one W-2 in one state and no deductions. How much more simple can that get? They want to charge me $168 to file that, despite saying it will be free to do so, online, AND on the phone!
Turbo Tax software can be glitchy according to numerous reviews. I had an issue that could not be resolved by three different specialists, one of them being a manager. This problem would not allow me to e-file and did not appear until I paid for the program. The manager told me I would just have to manually print out my tax return and send it in by physical mail. Frustrated that this "free" tax service has fees. Also, last tax season I followed the directions regarding the child tax credit. The IRS reviewed and came back stating that it was entered incorrectly, and that we owed more on our tax bill. There is no way to contact or leave a message, and the automated "agent" goes in circles.
The wirst sales people, technical support, customer service and... In the very first day I clearly explain my requirements, based on that I wS offered to buy online pluse. After 8 hrs spending time with more than 10 people in quickbook, I was told I have to buy the advanced version. Last year, my sister convinced me to try TurboTax instead of my usual tax software. I went through the process, but was not able to file due to them being unable to verify me (and it was more expensive than my old processor, too). I ended up doing my taxes with my old program, but TurboTax kept spamming me with emails. I tried pressing the Unsubscribe button, but it just brought me to the account home page, rather than unsubscribe me. My company purchased Quickbooks from Intuit to test bookkeeping software, and we were very disappointed with both the product and customer support. Last year dealing with TurboTax was a nightmare; software glitches w New York State tax forms took this company weeks to correct. This year, after wasting over an hour trying to upload investing information into tax returns, I was told by TurboTax that their servers were too busy & I'd have to try another time.
