I just had a really interesting experience with Turbo Tax. I have not used them in a few years. So since my credit union, NRA, USAA, and AARP have been saying I would get a discount if I used them, I used them. I do not claim to be any kind of a tax expert or a computer expert. But I have used computers, and tax software for a good 30 or so years. I have two 1099-Rs. Both from the US government. I input them into the software. TurboTax charge me **** and refused to issue a refund even though I didn't use their services. I've been using TurboTax for the last 2 or 3 years. This year I started the refund process, TurboTax *********** fool and showed me that I'd get ******** from NY State refund. Then after I paid ******* for their service, that's when they showed me the real number which is that I had to return ******** to NY state. Horrible I filed my taxes with turbo tax was denied For the advance, for 3 days I called to figure out where my deposit was and finally was told that I needed to identify myself, which I had to do through email not one person from credit karma or turbo tax told me that once turbo tax got my service they where no longer interested in helping me fix my problem and credit karma was the same way I am very disappointed in the service and will NEVER use any intuit services again !!!!

I'm a technology support professional and most of my clients work with Quickbooks. Because of this, I have had to call customer support for various Quickbooks issues. While usually friendly, I have found that most technical support customer service individuals are not very knowledgeable of the product. They almost always stick to knowledge base articles and if some support issue is beyond their understanding, there is no process in place to escalate the issue. TurboTax advertised Premium edition as product that will provide "Additional help for investment sales such as stocks..." In reality, it's even impossible to import brokerage 1099 from the brokerage company. Turbotax rep's advice.. "write info manually" Complete waste of time and money

This was my first year using turbo tax because I'd heard positive feedback of your products. I don't make much income so I figured that when I went in to do my taxes I could use the most basic of packages, if not the free one. Turns out that since I received a 1099-NEC incorrectly from my employer instead of a W2 that meant I hd to pay $89 along with $39 for state filing. Beware of the bait and switch. I have been using Turbotax for many year, and although my tax situation has not changed, suddenly they want to charge me for the Premier edition when I had a very basic return. I tried to reach them by phone to get the issue fixed, was placed on terminal hold, then disconnected. They used to be good, but something has gone terribly wrong this year.

TurboTax did not have the proper software to file my 2020 taxes and they were rejected due to a mistake the system made, I paid $200 at the request of a "tax expert" from TurboTax just to have him resubmit my taxes the exact same way 4 times over a 3 hour phone call. My taxes were rejected again and I had to go to a different company and pay another $256 to be helped. It's been 10 months and I still can't get my tax returns!
