Two years ago I bought a desktop version of Quickbooks that I use on my desktop computer. Even though I never use the online version, Intuit forced me to open an Intuit Account anyway, and the software randomly prompts me to login on all of my company files. They charged me 1000 to file my taxes. I would avoid turbotax since this change.
None of their experts could help me file an acceptable return with the irs. I had to go into it myself after failed 5 tries after following their experts guidance! They also agreed with me to take there filling fees from my returns now they are talking about taking it from my bank account which is a breech to the agreement they made with me! They were not helpful and breaching their contract!
TurboTax terminated my Full Service ($350) 11 days after I had submitted all my documents. I have NOT requested termination of the Full Service. The tax advisor was in touch with me during this time and suddenly my connection with her was also interrupted. They said that I would have to submit all documents again and wait possibly another 2 weeks. I asked them what was the reason my Full Service was terminated and they didn't know. BEWARE! Intuit's Turbo Tax has hidden fees. And, they direct you to these fees by making other options inaccessible when you try to use them. When filing a return, they make you use a third party vendor, they don't disclose, and then take money out of your bank account. So far I have been unable to get my money back however I have made sure they were reported to the State Attorney General in CA and my state. BEWARE!
Unresponsive to Tax Agent Neglect. I needed a question answered about my on line tax preparation and was contacted by phone by the Turbo Tax agent.The answer to my question along with additional resources to seek a resolution and case number was supposed to be emailed to me, according agent number 1. AVOID this company at all cost! I went with TurboTax as my employer's payroll system stated it would import all my W2 information-it did not. I went ahead and entered my one W2 with NO other special tax deductions, asserts, IRAs, retirement funds, college funds-nothing but a standard deduction. I spent 4.5 hours on the phone trying to resolve an error. I was blocked out of my 2014 version of quickbooks last year which resulted in me having to upgrade my computer to windows 10 and buy a new version of quickbooks - which was supposed to be a standalone just like all the previous versions I had bought but your employee Marc Jan sold me a subscription instead. We purchased the product back in 2007. We cancelled the product 2009. All of a sudden in 2019 we were being charged again for the software. We cancelled the subscription and sure enough we were charded again in 2020, and 2021 and 2022. Every year we cancel the subscription and try to contact someone to no avail. We changed bank cards but somehow we have to every year cancel the subscription. Now keep in mind they still take our money and we have never gotten a refund.
