🥵Griddy is not for everyone.
Just had to go unplug everything in my house...at $9 per kilowatt, who the hell can afford to use 10 kilowatts an hour!!!!! It’s been $9 for over 15 minutes!!!! Even if I get another provider, it won’t happen til tomorrow at the earliest and by then my bill will be $200 for ONE DAY!!! and I can’t cancel any payment..screw this company.....if there is a class action suit, I’m in!!!!!
I love the app but beware of price spikes. I understand we're seeing all-time highs in the market b/c of weather but I didn't think I'd EVER see rates go to $8.99/kWh. I've actually worked in the industry for other provider(s) for over 10 years so I'm aware of market changes. I just switched. These swings in pricing are too much for me. Their model doesn't work for me - I'm back to a contract and reading all the fine print.
By not having $8.98/KwH prices! This is Ridiculous!
We switched to griddy from txu 2 months ago and we ended up spending more with griddy. We don't use a lot of power on a regular basis maybe around 1k kw. Today our rates spiked up to 7.50. I sat in the heat with no lights and the air off with my children for an hour until my husband got home and switched us back to txu. In 15 days we paid over 100$ that is usually what we use a month max.
Even though their regular prices are low, electricity prices spiked to over $2 per kw. That’s 200% more than I used to pay.
Beware!!!! it's 750.0¢ per kWh!!! Please do not sign up for Griddy. I'm literally cringing about my upcoming bill!!!
