Horrible customer compassion. I live 1 mile away and they threaten me by sending a Federal Express letter threatening to call the county authorities because they couldnt reach me. In fact I took my pet there twice, she was doing much better so they didnt ask us to come back. So why threaten us? I am seeking care elsewhere because of their abuse. I went to the vet to get my dogs abcess looked at, the original vet I had went to said my dog needed surgery immediately, but they couldnt get my dog In For surgery until July, it started end of May. I called plenty of vets nowhere could get my dog in. Until I found Banfield in mid June they got him in immediately and gave him the surgery. After they prescribed the wrong antibiotics and gave us pills instead of the liquid. the worst experience I've had! I had a wellness plan for my dog ??that I paid for every month. It was an automatic payment. Every month I saw a payment to Banfield Hospital on my bank statement, I knew I was paying them so I didn't pay attention to the dates they withdrew the money. When I paid attention to the dates, I saw that they have been withdrawing double payment every month for 2 years. Lack of knowledge! Lack of communication!took my dog for x-rays, very vague in explaining the problem, they don't know what they are talking about. had the audacity to tell me i can make an appointment for a consultation with the company who will be doing the surgery and the cost will be approx $150.00 and surgery will run about 5-7k, all they could say is my dog has soft tissue on her back leg, and will possibly need surgery. i had to call 3 times to get the results of the xrays, and i called 3 additional times to obtain a ... read more
I have had the Optimal Wellness Plan for my cat, Jaycee, ever since I got her in 2021. Upon signing up for the plan, they ask for a card to be saved on file for the plan to pull payments for. My card method of choice twas a ***** ****** ****ending in ****. This card has always had the payments pulled from it with no issue. Recently, starting around June/July 2023, I started using my debit card ending in **** to make payments. I NEVER changed the payment method or authorized the card to be charged UNLESS I called in. Total scam. My pet died so I tried to cancel my plan wellness plan. I was told there was no account for me. No account?! They've been taking ***** from my account for years but I have no account? I called customer service only to sit on hold for hours and them I was hung up on. Totally a scam. If I get another dog, I will definitely not being them again!

The wellness plan *** seem like a good idea but if your dog dies unexpectedly you are still responsible for paying for however long is remaining on the plan. We wont have a dog after tomorrow and still have to pay for close to a year for a service we cannot use. Do not get the wellness plan. Its ridiculous that we have to pay for an animal we do not have anymore. I recently had to have my pet put to sleep which as unexpected and I notified Banfield about this and asked how do I cancel my plan. I received an email saying that I would need to either pay in full the remainder of the contract or keep paying the monthly fee until the end of the contract. I told them that is horrible that I had no idea that I would have to go through this horrible experience when I brought her in and they should make an exception - NOPE NOT AT ALL. What kind of nonsense is that? There should be exceptions.... read more

Their wellness plan is a scam. Period. Do not do it.Also, my dog was having breathing problems during the heat wave. I took her in and the Banfield vet looked me in the eyes and asked me if I wanted to euthanize her! Said her breathing was not going to improve and let's talk packages!! $189 to euthanize and cremate. $500 if I wanted her ashes back. After shedding tears I said I would go get my husband.
