About this business

The Austin Humane Society (AHS) is Austin's largest no-kill, non profit animal shelter and dog and cat adoption center. Each day, we have hundreds of cats and dogs in our shelter that are looking for a second chance at love and a family. We serve close to 8,000 animals each year through our both our adoption program and free feral cat spay and neuter clinic. AHS receives no city, state or federal funding, and relies solely on the support of individuals and businesses in our community.

I think it's terrible that only 3 days are given for an owner to be able to claim their pet. How many shelters are there? Christine Bockin needs to get her dog back.

I've never adopted a dog from a shelter!!! She fits in the pack perfectly. The fact that she was spayed and vaccinated made the decision to bring her home a no brainer. Will for sure adopt again when the time comes.

Until Christine Beckin gets her dog back the Humane society has lost any more help form me. If the family that got her dog had it for months I mite understand them keeping it but only a couple of days is just wrong and the HS sould let her know who has the dog so action thur the courts can be taken.

For not helping a lady get her dog back when she was from a different county. Read the story, very disappointed in this organization.

Another first for me at AHS - arrived there around 2pm yesterday to pick up my feral cats from their fabulous clinic, and the power was out, but staff was carrying on by flashlight, then generator doing surgeries on the cats that were sedated when they lost power. Amazing staff and teamwork.

Business response:

Thank you for your kind note, Chris! I will pass this along to the clinic team. We appreciate all you do for the Ferals.
