About this business
The Austin Humane Society (AHS) is Austin's largest no-kill, non profit animal shelter and dog and cat adoption center. Each day, we have hundreds of cats and dogs in our shelter that are looking for a second chance at love and a family. We serve close to 8,000 animals each year through our both our adoption program and free feral cat spay and neuter clinic. AHS receives no city, state or federal funding, and relies solely on the support of individuals and businesses in our community.

Recommended5 Stars I've adopted two cats from Austin Humane Society in the past 13 months and the place is so friendly and they truly care about the well being of the cats and kittens they have there. Here pictured are Charlie and Benny. Charlie (black kitten) was just adopted two days ago and he already feels like he's been with us for years. He's such a sweet baby, he was fostered since he was a newborn until recently, he's now three months old and was spayed only four days ago. 5 stars Staff was so helpful! Adoption process was easy love this place. My kitten is so happy in her new home. Very impressed with the customer service here. Wish I could remember the girls names! Also they responded to my Facebook message in 24 hours which was great!

We adopted our sweet Lola Bean, a Chihuahua-Rat Terrier, in 2012. She’s our light. We honor the gift of life AHS offers so many voiceless ones who would otherwise have no hope.
We have found our other half. My sister in law and I have bonded even more because if Michi. Thank you Austin Humane Society for giving us the chance to foster her, and then adopt her.
