The Austin Humane Society (AHS) is Austin's largest no-kill, non profit animal shelter and dog and cat adoption center. Each day, we have hundreds of cats and dogs in our shelter that are looking for a second chance at love and a family. We serve close to 8,000 animals each year through our both our adoption program and free feral cat spay and neuter clinic. AHS receives no city, state or federal funding, and relies solely on the support of individuals and businesses in our community.

The staff at Austin Humane Society is instrumental in the care and health of Austin’s homeless animals. They unleash hope daily for those animals in need! Keep up the great work!
I just found an awesome doggo there and can’t wait to bring her home after her surgery! The staff was amazing and very sweet!
Volunteer program with Tamara and Susan!!
Friendly staff and super cute animals!
I love my fur baby! I wouldn't trade her for anything! That said, they gave me a folder that said "Juan" crossed it out, put her files in the folder. Said she was vaccinated, but she wasn't. Said they looked into her rear hind leg being atrophied, but they hadn't. They (whoever was handling this adoption, and animal) did a piss poor job. They essentially gave me a male dog's papers who had a clean bill of health, and all his vaccines, but I adopted a female. I highly recommend adopting any animal from Austin Humane Society. Rosita came home with me and is the most calm and sociable cat I’ve seen. If you take your adopted cat to Petco, you can get a bunch of free goodies too!
Took this little baby home today and I couldn’t be more happy to bring him home to my kitty I previously adopted at the humane society 😂🥰
My daughter and her Girl Scout troop took a tour of the Austin Humane Society with Mr. Ish. He was so patient and informative with all of their questions! The girls learned so much about all the wonderful things that AHS does for our community. I ♥️ the AHS!
We just had the best birthday party at the Austin Humane Society. We made cat toys, cat artwork, toured the facility and made some kitten friends! It was her dream birthday party, and mine too because it was so easy. We just showed up with a cake and plates!
