About this business
The Austin Humane Society (AHS) is Austin's largest no-kill, non profit animal shelter and dog and cat adoption center. Each day, we have hundreds of cats and dogs in our shelter that are looking for a second chance at love and a family. We serve close to 8,000 animals each year through our both our adoption program and free feral cat spay and neuter clinic. AHS receives no city, state or federal funding, and relies solely on the support of individuals and businesses in our community.

We are so blessed with our sweet Cara! Thank you Austin Humane Society for taking such great care of her. She has now completed our family and she was all my kids wanted for chtistmas!
I adopted a little chihuahua named Christy for my mom through AHS two years ago. Christy is doing very well. The staff at AHS was fantastic during the adoption.
I found a kitten it looks like a kitten of six months Idk . But last night we were hanging up our wreaths and my husband saw this kitten. It was around 10:30 work no collar just meowing. We can't keep her I THINK it's a female. She's REALLY cute and I couldn't leave her outsidein the cold. AHS were great! Our pitty got out of the house and two days later we found him passed away.. that following weekend was the Mega Match-a-thon. Call it luck but we found a 1 year old pitty named Blossom there who has ended up being a great addition to our family. I know our late Rocky would have loved her as much as we do! A little over three years ago, my husband and I adopted Lola from the AHS. I loved how the staff first allowed us to take our time during the initial meeting with Lola and how we got to meet her trainer to gain more insight about our new girl. I am happy to say that Lola is a happy and healthy 4 yr old girl and that I am thankful everyday for her companionship.
