Spicy Southwest flavors is our passion for great Mexican food. Despite having a deep love for the cuisine, simply cooking and eating it wasn't enough for us, all we wanted to do was share our food. Acapulco Joe's was established out of a desire to share. Since opening more than 50 years ago, we striven to bring the best of Mexican cuisine to all those who have been willing to try it. That's why we're Indianapolis' first Mexican Restaurant, we wanted to expose the north to the cuisine of the South. Within Mexican cuisine, we ... read more

Worse Mexican food you could have unless you want an authentic Mexican experience. Dirty bathrooms, bad service and shitty food. With all the great Mexican restaurants in this city there is no need to choose this one. Seriously go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. The worst.
Service wasn't bad...not exceptional...but adequate. But the tacos have lost their distinct flavor. The vinegar sauce squirt bottles are gone from the tables. I'd chalk it up to a bad day, but i read lots of bad reviews, so it must be more than a bad day. Might come back in a while to give them another chance. But don't have high hopes.
The owner was so rude. He obviously should not be running a customer facing company if he cannot deal with people. He told my sister to hurry up as she was walking to the table. We then complained and he said he was glad she was leaving. Who does that. I will go to an authentic Mexican restaurant. #donoteatacapulcojoes
Waited 15+ minutes to be waited on and took another hour to get our food when we were the only ones there.
Walked waited to be sat. Ordered drinks and Joes queso. The queso came out and it wasn't the usual chili based yummiest queso I've ever hard; it was microwaved cheap cheese only. Our Fajitas were not sizzling and the chicken was Luke warm. I asked our server if the ownership had changed and she said she didn't know. Service was slow and slightly rude. The tables around us had remained dirty and unclean. The draught beer was not working and she never asked us if we wanted refills. She also bitched about other customers to us.... read more
Food was good but the service was very bad. Our server was nowhere around.
Very disappointed with the service. We have been patrons for more than 25 years and the service has been declining and tonight was the worst. The restaurant was not that busy. The hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait because the servers were helping in the kitchen because it was backed up. They were not that busy - a lot of empty tables inside and out. I asked if we could sit at a table and wait and she said no because people complain about not being waited on. Well, I would rather wait sitting down for 20 minutes than ... read more
Had tacos for lunch, tasted like taco bell, the salsa sucked and no real HOT sauce.
I Recently moved from TX, so I consider myself a Mexican food expert. I have been frantically trying to find a good restaurant in the Indy area and I have to say the margaritas are excellent and this place has the best cheese enchiladas I've ever had. Definitely coming back soon :)
