Spicy Southwest flavors is our passion for great Mexican food. Despite having a deep love for the cuisine, simply cooking and eating it wasn't enough for us, all we wanted to do was share our food. Very possibly the most unfortunate experience of my life. Chips cold and stale. Service slow and dirty. Food not fit for racoons... Nothing short of a painful 2 hours.
I had heard some not so pleasant things about Joe's but we had a wonderful lunch. I have gone to Joe's since it was across the street. I was disappointed when they played God Bless America at noon and there was no reaction. I miss Joe yelling God Bless America when Kate Smith finished the song. I celebrated my 30th birthday at the current restaurant 21 years ago. Joe came over and asked me to kiss him on the cheek. He turned his head at the last minute and I ended up kissing right on the mouth.

I've been getting the same thing since Joe's was on the opposite corner of the street 30 years ago: Mexican omelette, tortilla with honey, refried beans, and a side order of jalapenos. To me, the chips and hot sauce are the first reason to come back, and the omelette (served all day) the second.
I moved from Indy 6 years ago and when I come to town, Joe's is my must-do dining stop. Grant has maintained the core dishes and traditions that makes Joe's an Indianapolis institution. Every visit is better than the last. Thank you Grant for keeping this the best Mexican restaurant in Indianapolis.

Joe's has its own special way to do Mexican. It's always a treat when I have time to stop there during a day in Indianapolis.
Looks nice also clean , the servers treated us well and made us feel like home !!!! Plus great food�
Been going there 34 years. Yes sometimes the service is good and sometimes not so good same with the food and prices but I'll still go back.
