Evergy Energy, formally known as Westar Energy, is a very crooked company. I am a senior and receive LIEAP, low income energy assistance. Every single time I get a LIEAP payment Evergy magically raises my bills, every single time!! Two years ago, under Westar, I was all caught up on my ****, had even paid my current ****, and I received a $350 payment for LIEAP and I was so happy because that should have paid my next 4-6 months of electric payments. We have had no power all day. A tree took out a power line that is connected to our shop and house and they haven't even been out to look at it. You cannot get a human on the phone for any reason at all. Now the answer service says call during business hours. So we will call back at 8:00 tomorrow and just hope we still have a house and shop and a fire does not take them out. This is by far the worst costumer service I've encountered in my 42 years on earth.

I think it's not feasible that a person living alone pays same rates as a family of four.The water **** in Manhattan is even higher!

Moved in 3 months ago. Paid my bills but the previous resident didn't... They shut off my power in the middle of winter for not paying someone else ****!

I've called Evergy 5 times over the course of the last 12 months about getting a tree cut down that is in the line between poles behind my house. I tried to pay a private company to cut it down, but they won't due to the danger associated with it. Not sure what I'm supposed to do....but with **** stars out of 5 I'm guessing it's staying like this until the power goes out. Sorry neighbors!

Currently own a home in ******** and live out of state. Was informed I needed to have some work done and done so quickly as I am in the midst of selling my home and this was needed to be done before I could close. I contacted the company to get a meter pulled so an electrician could do the work. I was told someone would be there the following day so the electrician could do his work. Terrible, customer service just as bad. ****************** early morning for a balance that shouldn't even call for disconnection. Pay **** shortly after and now have to wait at least a day to get power restored. WOW great way show your customers you care. GARBAGE

Absolutely garbage company!! After being told my last **** was paid in full, I had my service removed as I was moving. Seven months later I am trying to start up service at a new residence, come to find out they won't turn power on for me as I owed the $461 that I was completely unaware of. Not only that they turned it in to collections which has been hitting my credit for the last five months! Now trying to get this **** paid off they can't seem to find it. If I could give a negative amount of stars, I would. Scheduled for our power to be turned on a week and a half before move in day. I received a confirmation number and everything. Called the morning of to confirm so we could move everything the following dah, and was told there is no reservation scheduled for us. Theres nothing we can do about it.
