I called to have the bill transferred into my name from my roommate's name since he moved out about 2 months ago now. I called over the phone and they told me they switched the account over to my name and that I should receive a bill in the mail in my name so that I could pay it. We received no bill and have only just received a letter informing us that our bill is past due. No call, no email, no nothing. They only get one star because there isn't an option for zero. I've been trying get a refund for 12 weeks, it is always the same story and no check. Truly unbelievable, I over paid by $244 (even pay) the Kansas regulatory agencies need to look into their billing practices. Their customer service is poor and now they are sending me text messages without my authorization. This will drive more people to solar.

Beware of fraudulent billing practices! Not once in my life have I ever desired or inquired about “level pay” or “budget billing” because I prefer smaller bills off peak. And with 100% certainty, would I EVER move into an apt in November 2019, establish service prior to the move in, and then 2 weeks later (as the electricity bills are plummeting!!!) initiate level budget pay. I got my electric bill, which usually runs no more than $125. Usually when I leave town, my bill goes down below $100. This time it is almost $200, yet I was out of town 16 days of this cycle. I turned everything off and turned my heater down to 68. Then last week my security light went out. They said they'd be out to replace it on Monday. It is now Friday and they still have not replaced it.

I called a week ago to set up service energy asked for an ID I was able to send both but they didn't receive both they were able to verify my husband they did not turn my service on and I have vendors coming to my house today and I have no electricity they told me they don't do same day restart same day starts so because they had a wrong email address they were unable to reach me to get my ID resent and I have no electric and I have vendors coming and they will not tell me when they're going to have my electric on my issue i... read more

They say 3rd times charm. I'm going to TRY to write this review again, and SEE if it goes through! We have (been married 58 years) been with KC Power & Light ever since we were married until Evergy took over. Up till I received our statement, I had no problem. I notice the charge for the electricity, but then there was a MISCELLANEOUS charge of over $100. I then called the billing phone number that was listed on the statement. Well they are terrible but yet not as bad as bpu in wyandotte county. Evergy has been overcharging my light bill went up from $89 to $188. My light bill with BPU $1800 and they won't correct it the former landlord had my neighbor bill on mines and didn't tell me the neighbor never once paid or help me pay the bill and would leave lights on all the time. I didn't know that the neighbor was using my lights until my daughter had a life threatening emergency and I fell on hard times. The light bill shot through the roof first $9... read more

Watch this company if you have an account! Somehow a second address was added to my account and my home service was scheduled for disconnection. I didn't make this request and I wasn't notified of this change in any way. I just happened to notice it when I didn't receive a bill. How did this happen? I called and got no explanation, no apology and vague answers about how the billing would be handled.
