I missed a payment due a hectic life. I was on a payment plan because covid made it impossible to pay my bills. Evergy is the only one with a STRICT payment on a specific day or the entire balance is due. The warning of disconnect came the day before disconnection. 6-26-21 storm came through ******** Kansas and they have one power outage listed on their map in our city that has been reported since 1:50 am and they cant seem to get power restored in a reasonable time it is now 7 am. They tried to turn power back on in our neighborhood at around 3 am and it didnt hold and it now like they just decided to leave and not worry about getting the power back on to customers. We were told one week ago that there would be no lapse in service from previous tenants to our start date, which is today. We were told multiple times today that our electricity would be turned on. We have called multiple times and continuously told that someone was coming and ** ONE HAS EVER ****** UP. Absolutely horrible experience. Now 4 days without power!!

They shut you off with no warning no and no note on the door and they give no guarantee of turning on service when paid in full 5 min after being shut off. Only company available and use their monopoly to take advantage of people. Horrible company wish they had competition like all other businesses.

During the power outages in February, my business was out of power for over 4 hours. One of their employees is a customer of mine and he told me Evergy had trouble getting the power back on. That outage cost me over $1000 in business. I reached out to Evergy to explain my loss but all I got was big business diversion. I asked for the amount of time each sector was out in Kansas but they say they can't give me that information. Service was not discounted when asked and then they will not allow you to hear the phone call that is recorded without a court order. Seems like you would share the call with the customer if you werent trying to cover up any wrong doing!!!

A very very greedy and shady company. A typical overpowered, dangerous, and reserved conglomerate that I really hope the people take action against. They shut people's electricity off, tell people to call back if they're experiencing problems but then don't answer, they have no compensation for their customers when they are truly struggling. This company got their local monopoly by promising things they never intended to do. They claimed the merger would make energy more affordable and dependable. Yet they have consistently raised energy prices by AT MINUMUM 9% sometimes multiple times per year, and added hidden fees. The energy cost far more NOW than it did before the merger, asnd they have literally done NOTHING AT ALL to resolve their failings.
