Hello, My name is Andrew Cox. I am not only an employee of PVAHCS but also a patient. I just recently had surgery at PVAHCS. I would like to say thank you to the surgeons Dr. Tessier and Dr. Karsonovich. They did an excellent job and really impressed my family. The staff who assisted in my surgery from the PRE OP to the day of the surgery went above and beyond also. I am 40 percent disabled and the Portland VA is my primary care provider. Since I live to far from the VA and their back log was four months. I was enrolled in the Choice Program. Well now I have to pay for health care that the VA now says they don't cover! WTF man! Ya all suppose to take care of me! I went from the best VA health care in South Dakota to the worse health care at the Portland! Now I get to pay for the VA backlog and incompetance! This sucks!
Just had my 10th minor surgery there since 2004... It takes time to get an appointment but without the VA I would be up to my ears in medical debt. Most of the docs and nurses are very nice and polite... Only had one bad experience and was in the emergency room with the check in gal (pretty sure she was gonna watch me die standing there trying to check in while she played on her phone).
This is mostly to the rehab clinic because that's what I've encountered so far. Their Doctors and physical therapists are great. It's their administrative team that literally is the worse. I have never encountered a receiption team that fails to treat patients as actual human beings, as a priority, or give them any respect until i started helping out my dad with injury recovery at the VA. My dog receives better care at his Vet, than this Vet has received from the Portland VA.
Yet again I have been provided same day service for minor care. The Portland VA Audiology department is as good as it gets. Thanks and God Bless
I love the care that I have received. I was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005. The doctors and nurses saved my life. I also am pleased that the women's clinic is finally here. We deserved to be recognized.
Hey we got a guy who claims to vet and has PTSD and uses that as excuse for being a drunk in our camp and has some very eccentric rules he wants us to follow and he seems pretty isolated is there psychiatrists who can come to camp and see him? He sure won't go see a Dr. and frankly I'm scared.
