I love going there.. The people are so good and personable.. I believe they really care what happens to us... I am having a hard time deciding if my family moves whether I will go with them or stay close to the Portland VMAC... Some people are so self-focused.. They don't take into account the needs of others.. They are the type on here who complain about everything with no gratitude.. Sure get tired of hearing them.... And then there are the ones who haven't got the intelligence to speak without profanity.... Bravo Portland... read more
Medically speaking the care my wife received was very good. The nurse in particular was very nice and understanding in regard to our needs. My only complaint was the choice of channel on the tv in the waiting room. AMC was playing 'red dawn' and all the gunfire and screaming was triggering her PTSD to the point that we had to wait in the hallway. Put it on bass fishing or something.
I have always been well treated at any VA hospital I have been to. Portland VA was no exception. The staff were friendly and helpful. You can tell that they had the desire to actually find out what needed to be done. Thank you
The VA in Portland is the best. But I gotta keep telling that Urologist as good looking as he is he needs to smile once in awhile especially when giving good news!! Roseburg VA, well that's another story ......

The Dr's. And nurses at the Portland VA do an excellent job! They never keep us waiting are professional and provide awesome care. Great Job!
We love Dr Chu, but he sent us for a stat ct scan, we waited 2 1/2 hours then told them we were leaving. We had a 4 hour drive home. Today we get a call at 9 am for a ct scan at 1. Ridiculous to want us to drive 4 hours for a ct
I was at the VA hospital on 1/24/17 with my father in law. As we were leaving, there was an elderly gentleman arriving for an appointment. He did not want to use the kiosk for self check in and was asking the employee behind the counter to check him in. The employee clearly did not want to help this gentleman and told him he needed to use the kiosk. The elderly gentleman let the employee know he is blind in one eye. I checked in for my appointment, every thing went smooth as clock work, I was treated with dignity and respect the entire time I was there. This was a very complicated procedure, that came with a few risks, but the nurses, the anasthesiolagist, and the surgeon took the time to set me down, and explain everything to me, and they were very attentive to me in the recovery room. The food was good, and I was given juice anytime I asked for it. All of the nurses and staff that I dealt with were very professional!!!. So now it's up... read more
