Consistently underperforms expectations. The employees there act as if they have no worries in the world, safe in the knowledge that you couldn't fire them with a cannon. They don't hire people with skills, they hire cronies and "friends" who then don't bother with their jobs.
The VA has always given me excellent care. I go to over 5. Clinics and they have all gone above and beyond. I Traver 230 miles each direction so the va helps get us in and out to be on our way.
I have been an employee for the VA for 26 years as of Dec 7th 2016. I'm very proud to have the opportunity to serve our service men and woman.
As far as getting into the Bend office, usually in a week or less but right now I am trying to get relief for a 'Chronic" neck pain that keeps me from getting a good night sleep or to exercise, move my head from side to side and the TRI West Veterans help group is very poor, I have been waiting for over two weeks now to get "another" CT Scan and they do not even return my calls. I may have to go to a Private Doctor for help even though it will cost me lot more, but I need relief and I can only use so much medication. Ron Pow... read more
I've been struggling a ton since returning from my deployment four years ago. I was a Medic and ran well over 250+ missions while deployed to Afghanistan. My body and mind have been on strike since getting back and I'm suffering a whole host of issues (mentally and physically). While I don't like having to drive all the way to PDX, I'm grateful for the care I received outside of my tiny clinic at Camp Rilea. There may be hope after all. Praying.
6 months ago today. I made a choice that greatly changed my life. I chose to take care of a Vet. I call him Dad. � Today on this Veterans Day 2016. I want to thank the men and women that take care of my dad and all other vets. I have had more people who have said your poor dad has to deal with the VA hospital. I am here to tell you these men and women at the Portland VA the Vancouver VA have given my father the best medical care we could have ever asked for. They treat him my dad with the utmost respect.
