I recently had my first In-Patient stay at the Portland V.A. Hospital. I can not commend your staff enough..............................from the E.R. Staff, Floor 5D Staff, Doctors, Housekeepers...........................all made my stay stress free and enjoyable. I especially want to compliment a certain RN on Ward 5D named Heidi. VA care is great when it comes to staff in the Hospital rooms.Complete breakdown of communication when it comes doctors and nurses. Doctors believe that the nurses hang on their every word and it's just not true. The doctors nurses pretty much do what they want. I've had the doctor wag his finger at me more than once only to find out that what the doctor said and what the nurses carried out was as vast as The Grand Canyon. Also important. Great Doctors and Staff New to them and felt like Family when I was there. Have had 3 crisis in 2 year and I CAN'T THANK YOU enough for saving my life twice Prostate Cancer and stomach Cancer and doing all they could to save my 91 WWII Father In-Law Again GREAT Hospital and Staff.

Great care providers, but the Enrollment Office/Travel Pay & Pharmacy staffs should be flogged and be made to endure the same treatment the give the veterans.
Va has taken good care of my husband. Its a place where each military person share pain with great respect for each other.
