This was my second VA hospital experience (First was VA ER in Great Lakes [amazing ER staff]). I have got to say I wasn't thrilled with our delay (June 1), but it worked out for the best. I noticed that EVERYONE on staff was friendly and polite. Some people went OUT of their way to be kind. To strangers AND to each other. Even when they didn't know you were there. It was quite a change from what I am used to in public hospitals (and we have been in a LOT). Special kudos to: 1. The hospital Admissions office. Our intake team ... read more

My recent visit to the ER and admission to 7th floor at Dallas VA was very pleasant and hassle free. I was treated with respect and professionalism by the nurses, doctors and staff. Thank you all!!

I came in on Tuesday (5/19) to get a copy of my MRI/X-rays for my back. No one had a clear way to describe where I needed to go, or how to obtain the needed information. After wandering around for an hour I finally found the film library and was informed I needed to pay $5 for a CD copy, even though I brought a USB they could use. They couldn't copy my records over while I waited (apparently their system is too slow). So I returned to work. On Thursday I return to obtain my CD, and they are out to lunch at a completely oppos... read more

Since when is it appropriate for a doctor to make a diagnosis with out seeing the patient when no bloodwork is provided. I went in with hand pain with swelling and some pressure in my arms. No pain in wrists or elbows but yet the diagnosis was bilateral nurve issues. I get two wrist braces and two plastic 45 degree elbow braces. REALLY?! My finger joints are in pain!! There is inflamation. I have a autoimmune disorder! TAKE BLOODWORK AND CHECK FOR INFECTION!!!!

The biggest thing besides all of my medical issues is vocational rehab counselors. I started off with the first one who would fill out the degree plan and all the paperwork, but if you had a question they were a ghost. I gave up after months of emails and phone calls. Then one day out of the blue I receive an email notifying me that my counselor has been changed. This email was in November 2014, and it also informed me to contact the new counselor. I sent an email with a greeting. No response. I thought well nothing has chan... read more

The pharmacy is ridiculously under staffed! I've been trying for HOURS today to find out where my husband's prescriptions are. Doc sent to pharmacy window. Pharmacy said they had been mailed. Over a week later still no medication. No one answers the phone in the pharmacy or it gets routed to some guy in an in take office (nothing to do with the pharmacy) that doesn't know anything. Just says he doesn't mind answering the phone? Why? He can't help you whatsoever! Or you get dumped into the 800# for refills and they cannot tra... read more
