Just spent 8 hours at the Dallas VA Hospital ER. Complete waist of time and it's a shame they are allowed to call themselves a hospital. I will definitely be writing my Congressman to let him know how Veterans are being treated at this facility.
There are many good employees, but they also keep people on that should have been fired a long time ago.
I have to say the VA Hospital in Dallas and the clinic in Ft Worth have Wayne the best care --I do not believe he would have had better care any where else. The Nurses, Doctors, Sitters, in fact the entire staff were caring , loving and very supportive of us. The care they gave Wayne was awesome!!!! The other VA Hospitals may be an issue but the one in Dallas and the Clinic in Ft Worth, I give a Thumbs up.
I was hospitalized a few times at the Dallas VA for treatment for my PTSD and sever depression. My doctor, Dr. John Dubose, was both professional and competent. I have been in a couple of the area's civilian hospitals and I can say, with all honesty, that the VA hospital is one of the best for treatment of mental illnesses. The rest of the staff were empathetic and professional as well. I am not cured; however, with continued therapy and support from the outpatient team, I know I will survive and continue to make progress.
Parking is the worst in the the free world. . Too many cars not enough spaces. Please make more space.
Unless you're going in there holding your own leg, don't bother. There is no bed side manner and they do not care about your pain level.
I would give Zero if I could. Noone answers the phone at the VA in North Texas. I moved her from Kentucky, you could learn A LOT from them! Add the one time I did get anyone on the phone I had multiple questions, the rude woman answered one and then hung up the phone! Makes me wonder if going to see anyone there is worth it, or just leaving Texas all together if this is the way you take care of Veterans.
It is out right disturbing. We live a hour away from the hospital my husband walked in to get a diabetic eye exam at 2:40 and waited in the area for over 15 minutes to be told the stopped the eye exams at 3 pm when every single person sitting behind the desk was on their little cell phones they would not give him the eye exam. They told him this at 3 after 3!!! When they should have already called him back
