The human body has an amazing way of showing you when you need to chill. I spent most of the day at the VA with a horrible fibromyalgia flare up that had me vomiting, with a horrible migraine, and gave me awful panic attacks. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the VA staff tonight was amazing, so kind and helpful! I also got to see the renovated ER and it’s wonderful, like a real hospital. I loved my TBI clinic PA in Dallas. I love my regular Tyler Clinic Folks. However, I must report that the folks answering general calls and the nurse triage line is failing. I was hung up on a few weeks back by someone who, I assume, didn't have time to repeat themselves after I asked them to. I hadn't understood what that person had said. That after holding for 45 minutes? NOT ok. Just a few moments ago I was hung up on by the system after having called the tele-nurse line and holding for 4 hrs and 7 minutes. parking is not readily available for the veterans. Wait times are far too long. Something needs to be done to improve the quality for the veterans.
Usually I have no issues. The va is always late for appointments because they always over book. My appointment was at 10:20 and still have not been seen. Unbelievable. Front desks blames the doctors the doctors blame the front desk for over booking.
How could they improve? How about hiring doctors and nurses who actually listen to what you tell them instead of cutting you off 3 words deep into my response every time. My doctor really has no idea what is going on with me. They don't listen and this 1 thing you are here for today crap has to go. I have so much going on that is going untreated it is ridiculous because, AS I HAVE SAID, No one is listening. You have people killing themselves on the front steps and still no positive change. I’m sadden by the disrespect to all my Fellow veteran. I went to Fort Worth to get my records and 2 weeks in row they are closed. There reason because one person took leave and there was not a care the world shown by Ms Dickerson this is a sad day. Veterans deserve the best care available but time after time we get the worst of service.
The new lab system setup at the Dallas VA Medical Center is horrible. It’s unreal that you have veterans waiting hours to have blood drawn. I understand that there are a lot of us, but when you walk up to the kiosk and realize that there are at least 125 people ahead of you only to go checked in, given your stickers, told to go sit back down and wait another hour before you can go to a booth makes this system ridiculous. I’ve had great service at the VA hospital in Dallas along with the clinic in Tyler. Glad to have them available.
