We reserved a 20 ft truck in ******** three weeks and received a text today that we were to pick it up in ********************* three hours away. Told them we cant do that and was given a 15 ft 2 hours away. What is the point of a reservation!!! I talked to several people and they all have horrible experienced with u haul. We will never use or recommend U haul again!!

Our U-Haul experience wasnt bad until we went to return our truck. We picked a return location, but upon trying to return the truck we were told their parking lot was full. We had to return the truck to the location in ********** ** instead, which turned out to be a nightmare. There were 3 different parking lots there, so we parked the truck in the one with all the other trucks parked in it. Long rant alert! I just want to say that I have had the worst experience with U-Haul this weekend. I should have know it was going to be a problem when the split my reservation and had me pick up the truck and car transport from two different locations. It was downhill from that point forward. Picked up truck on Friday and was not told the truck had a flat tire until I picked up the car transport the next day. ( tire did not look flat to my untrained eye). My experience at the ********************* location in *********** was the worst customer experience I have ever received from a business. I had my two uboxes stored there for a month during my move. When I went to retrieve them it took them over half an hour to locate my boxes at their facility. I then ended up getting charged two months rent when I had already retrieved my items from their facility. It then took me almost a month to get reimbursed ($508). I rented a uhaul 6 months in advance to empty my storage unit that I had to get after my husband passed away and selling our house. After driving 4 hours, uhaul sent me a text saying they changed my pick up place and time. That place was 1 hour out of our way and I had only so much time to get this done. My son finally got them to upgrade the truck at our original pick up place. I paid for the insurance for the truck, but they refused to reimburse me for the tow I had to get. Reservations mean nothing. They make reservations for everybody initially. Then the day before they check if they can fulfill it. They call you (the day before) and inform you they cannot serve you. They were sued successfully in 2007 for this in ********** **. The corrupt Judge let them continue this in the settlement. So reservations are hollow and meaningless.

I recently looked on line for Uhaul vans for sale, then went to a local dealer to confirm they had vans for sale. The website was identical to what I had found on line. I went to the *********** area ************. location after driving 3 hours to view what appeared to be vehicles in good condition. I was surprised to find all of the vehicles i saw on line were in horrible and undrivable shape. The vehicles were scavenged for parts, tires flat, none ran. The worst. Save you a looooot headache of this non-professional people. You will loose part of your stuff. Have a lot of your favorite things broken. With or without insurance . They will delivery your u-box in your neighbor 2 miles away and will not come back to move its you will literally have to load your car and make 100 trips to bring your stuff to your house to finish the move.
