I got there early with a LARGE party city bag, about 4 helium balloons, streamers, balloons to blow up, the whole 9 yards. My ex husband was supposed to pay for the room as a gift to our daughter, which he paid for through a third party online. Horrible experience, I planned a surprise getaway for valentines weekend. When I checked in the room to lay roses and place the presents for my wife, the room was stained with a smoke smell. If anyone would've really checked/cleaned the room out, they would've easily noticed and handled accordingly. Maybe say this room is not ready. It has been eleven days and no one has reached out to me or any of the other parents that were burglarized during the stay at the Aloft Omaha West Hotel. We are very disappointed in the way Marriott has behaved throughout this ordeal. We found out that the front desk employee was the mastermind behind the theft and that show allowed her boyfriend to reside in the hotel without payment while he conducted a human-trafficking business (pimping). My fiancé and I came to Maryland on business and did not know the extent of our stay due to the job requirements, and I found this "gem" Once arrived, I noticed that you had to pay for everything; there was no coffee, no water, no free wifi, nothing! I have been getting calls almost daily from Marriott for almost 3 years. No matter how many times I "press 2 to be removed from the calling list", I still get the calls. I have never even stayed at one of these hotels. The calls come from a different number every time and it is a recorded message: "Thank you for choosing Marriott hotels. I visited *******from *********and was skeptical about this hotel. Upon my arrival, I called and spoke with Paul and let me tell you the test was history from there. Paul went above and beyond for us the entire time. We had some minor issues upon our arrival and Paul was not there at the time. This is a COVID super spreader hotel. I have photographs of empty beer cans and pizza boxes all over the lobby. When I asked for coffee because there was none in my room, I was told that they cannot leave coffee because someone could have touched it. They insisted that to get coffee, I would have to come to the crowded lobby breakfast buffet in the morning to get coffee in a large gathering where literally everyone was touching the coffee... which, incidentally, they were OUT of.
