I bought 2 light switches from Home Depot a year ago. One of them fried itself out of nowhere just recently. It wasn't faulty wiring or anything. When I inspected the switch, i could locate where it looked like it caught on fire on the board inside the switch. When this happened, it apparently sent a surge of electricity that ruined my kitchen light too. home depot sold me several appliances which they said would be installed. what i didn't know is that the installer is a 3rd party, not employed by home depot. well, the installation resulted in scratches to my hardwood floors and chipped paint off my walls. home depot doesn't take responsibility since they don't employ the installers. the installers didn't take responsibility since they claimed the damage occurred due to the prior installation was done improperly. so, i'm left with not only the bill for the appliances but no... read more

DO NOT EVER BUY AN APPLIANCE FROM HOME DEPOT!! I won't EVER make that mistake again. Our appliance (refrigerator) delivery was scheduled for Monday 9am-1pm. Received confirmation the evening before. The morning of, we received a call at 9:30am that our delivery was being delayed because the truck was broke down and it couldn't be rescheduled until Wednesday morning. Had the Applewood laminate Flooring installed but had to call them to come back out because at the door the floor was cut uneven and because of it there's a big gap. Still don't know why the transition/threshold or whatever wasn't installed that I purchased either. Never buy carpet from Home Depot. My wife and I bought carpet and installation from home depot and still have not received what we purchased.

My wife and I had repeated issues with Home Depot and the sub-contractors that were suppose to install our carpet. Everything from falls claims to install in 7 business days to not holding the sub-contractors accountable. ****If you have had issues with Home Depot consider filing a letter of complaint with the Attorney General of MN. They will investigate companies if they have see a pattern of issues. The letters have to go through the Attorney General and not just BBB for them to investigate. We recently placed a large order for hardwood flooring at Home Depot. We were told that the order would arrive in the store in 10-14 days. Construction was to start 3 weeks later. The order ship 2 days after our purchase. From there everything went wrong. The arrival date was pushed back 3 times and we are now looking at the arrival of the flooring materials hopefully 4 weeks after order. Bought a washer from Home Depot with contract appliance delivery scheduled for 3 July with a call a day in advance to confirm delivery date and time. Call confirmed delivery date of 3 July between 4-8 pm. Called the listed number on the contract on 3 July from about 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM with the same status that we are on the delivery schedule for 3 July and will receive a call 30 minutes in advance of the delivery. Beware of claims for quick carpet installation! Also know that even after repeated days of delays to your time that you will simply hear, "Home Depot does not compensation for customers time." We needed carpet quick so we bought the 7 day installed carpet. We were told when you buy the quick- turn around carpet you don't get as high of a quality carpet but you get it fast and its still a good carpet.
