About this business

The Guenther House makes its home in an elegant historic mansion on the property of Pioneer Flour Mills in the historic King William area. From its not-so-humble beginnings as the home of Carl Hilmer Guenther in 1860, it has been restored into one of the more unique dining experiences in the city. The breakfast menu (served all day) offers Southern Sweet Cream Waffles and breakfast tacos, among other items. At lunch, choose from such entries as Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and Pioneer Taco Salad.

Very Nice scenery... A little hard for everyone walking in at the same time as us to find the Restaurant/check-in so alot of people were following each other HOWEVER The Food we had was hot & fresh!!

The Waffles. No words can express how ridiculously amazing these waffles were. We are chicken and waffle experts and these were agreed upon as the best waffles we've ever put a fork in. Everything is scratch made. The wheat roll for my veggie sandwich, the biscuits, bakery goods, EVERYTHING. Sweet cream pancakes and waffles are life changing.

Beautiful setting, the breakfast was delicious but not hot when served. I am not a fan of their flavored coffee. I was disappointed that they don't have gluten free options. But of course its purge business they are in. And catered to the product they sell and promote.

Beautiful neighborhood. Great historic venue for breakfast if lunch. Waffle of the day was yummy!

We went yesterday for lunch. We got there close to noon and it was a 30 minute wait so not too bad. The chicken salad plate was really good and I'd definitely get it again. My husband got the grilled chicken sandwich. While it was good it was a little hard to eat because the chicken wasn't pounded thinner at all. Overall we really liked it and will likely return on our next trip to San Antonio.
